From Android

Sending to my blog from the droid2.

This is Buck.

Time to update

Wow! We actually had a few days of warm weather. Last night was warm and we had a thunderstorm with wild downpours. I will not discuss the amount of snow we have.

At one point, my street was a one way lane with 10 ft piles of snow piles and slushy ice at the intersection with a major road. Just when you think it is safe to speed out to the road, your tires are spinning. I cannot tell you how much fun.

Happy news for the Maynard Beagles! We have made an addition to our family. Buck, an 11 year old male beagle, has joined the pack. He was with Beagles of New England as a Sensational Senior. What a sweetheart he is. Very sweet. Buck is deaf and that is something new for us to deal with. So now our pack is Jake (blind), Rudy (nervous) and Buck (deaf). Yes, we have heard all the deaf, dumb and blind jokes.

On the technology front, I am experimenting with a Droid 2 Smartphone. Have changed ROMS and finding lots of applications, including a blogger one. I might learn to be more timely in my posts. The other fun techie item is the Color Nook. This has been rooted and runs most andoid apps. as well as a book reader.

Hi there

Not to much new. Seeing a nutritionist to help lose some weight and maybe help with my GERD. If all goes well, surgery will be avoided (not gastric bypass but for the GERD!) My eating habits have really changed already and I hope they will change even more. The biggest change so far is cutting out chocolate and tea! I am addicted to Snapple diet peach iced tea and am learning to drink more water. And we not even begin to discuss the pain of giving up chocolate!!!!

Jake and Rudy have had their annual physicals and both are in great shape. Jake has a little skin allergy going on but we are treating that with some special baths. Cannot get him used to the shower yet. Have handheld sprayer, mat on the floor, etc and he is still scared. The poor guy cannot take the sound of water running. But we are making it though them.

Going to take a little vacation - 4 days in Durham NC visiting my friend Lori. The beagles are very happy now that they have Littlefield Pet Care baby sitting. They just love Mary and recommend her highly. They get to stay in their own home and get four visits per day, all meals on time and played with. Very happy pups. Check her out. The link is in the side column.

New Blog

Well, all good things will change. I am getting rid of my website and going to a blog. So, here is the first entry.

Rudy and Jake are doing very well. We lost Ruffles this summer. She had a good life with us, we loved her very much. Without a doubt the funniest dog I have known. I do miss her telling me to get up or to feed her or to lift her into my bed. I have been working on a collage for her ashes box and here is the first pass.

Rudy and Jake have been trying but chewing my shoes is just not funny.
